Real Life Hero was warming up his muscles in olive oil as a yellow container caught his eye. He turned his body towards it. When he got closer he saw it was a tower of metal containers, red, yellow and blue. He also saw a chest so he went for it. His feet dangled inches from the metal roof.
As he was about to land a gust of wind swept him away.
His parachute opened, saving him from a nasty fall.
That was lucky, he thought landing on the sand-colored rock below. A chest shone next to him, singing like a siren in the middle of a stormy sea. He opened it and picked up a hunter bolt rifle. Not bad, he thought. As long as no one comes near me.
He jumped on a pile of car tires and reached the top of the red container.
He couldn’t climb up.
He jumped and climbed up on the lowest container. Then he jumped at another pile of tires to reach the next one. He tried again and again until he reached the blue container. Here he grabbed a pump shotgun.
One last obstacle remained. The top container.
He jumped on the tires.
The jump propelled him backwards.
Freefalling, he watched as the container tower got shorter and shorter.
He fell to the ground with a thud, blood splashing all over the rock.
He was dead.
A bang of white light flashed before his eyes. What happened?
Real Life Hero was skydiving again. This had never happened before. Every bone on his legs hurt, his head was pounding. He felt heavy and his brain felt like it was marinating in quicksand.
At least the air smelled of popcorn.
Disoriented, he almost crashed on a treetop. He managed to land outside the door of a building and got to work, looting the place. By the treadmill on the top floor he found a thermal fish.
He ate the purple glowing fish and his vision turned blue. He moved around the area from building to building looting with this strange new vision.
Gunshots sounded in the distance but he felt safe here. When his vision returned to normal he sprinted up a hill to scout the area for enemies. He couldn’t spot anyone so he ran around hoping to find trouble.
Insects chirped and trilled in this green patch of the island. It sounded like he was in a jungle. But there were no animals and no people. At the edge of the safe zone perimeter this was not the place to be.
Real Life Hero moved farther into the island. Past the pond and the imperial Stormtroopers he found his first enemy. The enemy was wearing a short black skirt with matching boots. It wasn’t easy to see her behind the big green leaves.
He ran towards her.
She shot at him with a laser gun.
He was too close.
He felt his skin burning as he went for his drum shotgun.
He fired.
He missed.
Real Life Hero took two hits and he was almost dead.
He jumped around, building cover.
For a few moments he was safe in his wooden fortress. He used the opportunity to replenish some of his health with his green spray.
The enemy fired and broke the top wall of his fortress.
Real Life Hero jumped out, landing behind the confused enemy.
He had one chance.
He blew it.
His every shot hit nothing but air.
Black-skirt turned around.
She fired her laser.
Real Life Hero burst into a blue flame. He was dead.
Until tomorrow.
