Fortnite Storytelling Episode 17

Real Life Hero swooshed his tentacle sentinel on top of a low building. He picked up the hunter bolt rifle sunbathing on the roof and smashed the brick below his feet with his sword. Birds sang and cicadas chirped on this piece of land by the water. Real Life Hero jumped down and began collecting guns he found lying around the floor under the sound of distant gunfire. No matter how many bullets he found he still seemed to be running low without even a single shot fired.

It was not good then when the distant shots materialized into bullets flying past him as he jogged farther into the island. He hid behind some big gray rocks and looked around. First he heard the hurried footsteps somewhere from his right. Then he saw the shooter jumping up at him.

A tall stem with big and wide green leaves got in the way between him and the shooter. Real Life Hero walked through the plant firing in the dark. Once he came through to the other side, dance music played and he found himself dancing. What the hell? He thought. A shiny ball appeared over his head, colors flashing as he ran and danced, swaying his arms left and right, pointing to the air with his finger, his legs following along.

Thank the gods reigning over this mad land the shooter was bad, he thought. The dancing ended as suddenly as it had started. Real Life Hero picked up his rifle and aimed at the crouching active shooter. A few shots later the shooter was dead.

No respite for the dancing victor though. Another shooter took over, aiming just as badly as the first one. Real Life Hero, unable to spot the shooter, ran towards the gunshots. A bit farther down, he stumbled onto a gunfight. He fired at one of the shooters and as he was taking shots from a shooter somewhere on his left he fired at a sparkly-suited enemy on his right. Only a few shots it took to kill that one.

But the shots kept coming. Still unhurt he saw that the flashing light from the gunpowder was coming from ground level, farther away behind the building in front of him. He gained ground and spotted what seemed to be a guard. But the guard hid behind a grounded boat.

Real Life Hero searched the area for ammo and moved forward looking through his scope for the unseen enemy.

It wasn’t easy, this earthly-colored enemy blended well in the background up on top of the wooden building. But Real Life Hero spotted him moving as he threw down a gun. He aimed and took his shot as his enemy basked in the sun. The enemy took a few hits and used a Rift-to-Go globe to vanish.

Another shooter appeared, running away. That was odd, Real Life Hero thought. He noticed a question mark over the runaway shooter’s head. Was he a hired mercenary running after his contractor? Probably, he thought.

He shot at him. A lot. But the mercenary was strong. Real Life Hero walked closer and switched his rifle with an SMG. He fired like the way he swam when he saw a shark, fast and without looking back. The mercenary was dead.

He had to move out of there or the storm would catch up with him. He ran and climbed his way away from the area and sprinted up the hill. It still sounded like a jungle out here. He slid down the hills and ran as the storm came closer and closer. Was he going to make it? No way to find out but to run, he thought.

He was sprinting along a dirt path when he noticed movement up ahead. He slowed down and started shooting at his enemy. But this one was quick on his feet and a good shot. Real Life Hero was dead.

Until tomorrow.
