Real Life Hero hovered inches away from the snowy top of the hill. Footsteps sounded just behind him.
He landed and ran for the gun sitting near the chest in front of him. With gun in hand he looked around. No one.
Out of nowhere, a doppelganger in a cape started hitting him with a pink hammer, alternating hands.
He was almost dead when he started shooting. The gun won this fight though. A crow sitting on the rock cawed and flew away. Who was watching him? There was no time for thinking. He opened the chest and stocked up on guns and bandages.
He rolled the bandages on his arm and felt better. It took four bandages to get in fighting shape but not full health. He needed to be more careful.
He looked around. Clear. He took out his sword and smashed the rock to smithereens to use for cover. Then he slid down the hill and moved towards the safe zone.
Shots sounded all over the lumberyard. Real Life Hero climbed up a roof and scouted the area. He stumbled onto a fight between two shooters and decided to lay low. When one of the shooters was killed he aimed his gun and waited for the other one to show up.
Nothing. Footsteps sounded nearby but the surviving shooter was nowhere to be seen.
Had he seen him and gone around to shoot him in the back?
Yes. But he was a lousy shooter.
Real Life Hero turned around. Still nothing. He moved out of his current position and lay low using logs as cover.
The shooter spotted him and fired. He was still a bad shot.
Real Life Hero ran away. He climbed up some logs to gain higher ground and looked for the shooter. Finally, he spotted him and started shooting. In no time the shooter was dead.
He searched the yard for guns, ammo and upgraded his health and strength using a medical kit and a blue potion he found floating in the water. Then he used the strong river current to swim farther into the island.
The water was freezing but refreshing. He saved on energy covering lots of ground and the cold water helped with his twitching leg muscles from all the running and climbing.
He stopped at the gas station to look around for some more goodies. All was going well until the sun fell off the sky and under the dark blue sky guards started firing at him.
Real Life Hero ran away, slid down the steep hill, bullets flying past him left and right. With full health and strength, he swam across the patch of sea and took refuge in the small cabin on the edge of the little island.
The guards kept shooting at him. He hid and fired back at them. He hit them but the guards were too strong. The cabin was gone in a matter of seconds. He changed positions and hid behind some rocks. He wasted most of his bullets and all three guards were still alive and fighting.
He built some cover. The faster he built it, the faster the guards knocked it down. He stayed low and built multiple wooden walls, walking back in small steps. The guards stopped.
All his strength was gone and half his life. He used the green spray to replenish his health and scouted the area beyond.
He spotted a shooter at a distance and fired at him. Hit him once but he managed to get away.
Real Life Hero approached. Inside the safe zone he jumped down a deep hole to look for ammo. Water formed a small puddle about knee high.
When he was done he used the smooth rocks to jog out of it without jumping or climbing. On his way up he heard footsteps and water splashing.
Was anyone in the hole with him?
He kept running. That’s when he was hit in the back. Once, twice. He was gone.
Until tomorrow.
