Fortnite Storytelling Episode 1

NOTE: The first episode reads more like a summary, unfortunately.
He gained consciousness on the eighth day of April, 2022. It happened while riding on a flying bus. There was music, not elevator-music; the sound was upbeat, but calm. What followed was anything but. The music made the short journey tolerable. You see, there were 98 other people or things with him…and it was a small bus.
His brain felt like it was floating in a cauldron filled with pumpkin soup. Not exactly your typical rebirth, he thought. He pushed through the crowd, stumbling like a drunk. He reached the front of the bus. Everyone was thanking the bus driver. Then they jumped.
First he needed a name. What if he had to introduce himself? Call him Real Life Hero.
Real Life Hero did something all humans do when they don’t know what to do. He did what everyone else was doing. He thanked the bus driver and got a reward. What sort of wicked experiment was this?
Then he jumped in faith. A rainbow of air surrounded him. Was he falling to his death? No. The weird machine with the long tentacles for a tail saved him from a hard fall. He landed on a tall, red-desert rock.
Upon touching ground a pink hammer appeared on his hand. He saw a gun and took it. Bullets too. A cooler. What could be in it? Some strange-looking orange fish. Two of them.
Guns, bullets, bandages and gold; shock grenades and orange fish. Just a few things of what he could find on this strange land. He wanted to take it all, but he could only hold five things. He chose to leave the shock grenade behind and kept the fish. He gathered wood and stone and steel by smashing walls, trailers and roof tops.
A car revved in the distance. Was it coming his way? He was not going to stick around to find out. He zip lined to the next the rock.
Jogging was slow but he made progress and could pick up better guns, more bullets and gold.
Music that screamed danger into his heart sounded when he reached the first buildings. Gunshots not far away. He explored and acquired more things. He drank a blue liquid from a small bottle, twice. It made him feel more protected. He also discovered he could use the materials he had gathered to build walls. And that he was a very good climber. So good he could jump and climb over walls.
He hid from the bus on the road. Then he spotted the first human around. If it was human. He used his burst rifle to track him. He squeezed the trigger. He missed and the human ran away.
Real Life Hero jumped on the wall of the nearby building and spotted the human over by the rocks. It was far but it worked. He eliminated the target. Is that what he was supposed to do?
He checked the map. A storm was coming. He should move towards the center, he thought. A car over the hill appeared on his way. He took a few shots while it sped away. No damage. The driver got away. Then another human. Real Life Hero started shooting. The human built some wooden cover, but it wasn’t enough. He was eliminated after a few more shots.
But what was that sound? A tank. Should he shoot at the tank? He aimed at the hatch in the front and took his shot. He got a few shots but that wasn’t good enough. The tank wasn’t that close, but now the tank driver must have spotted him. He ran. He didn’t just jog this time. He sprinted.
What? How did that tank get here so fast?
The first shot hit him hard.
The next shot killed him.
Just before his last breath, he thought: I shouldn’t have messed with a tank.
Real Life Hero was eliminated. What would happen next? Would he regain consciousness? Would it be on a bus? Would he remember any of this?
Until tomorrow.
